Hard to do that when the school system drains all your capacity to think over an 8 hour cycle of boredom and constant brainstorming over things you'll never actually use outside of school

I'm so glad there's a studio releasing stuff like this for kids. That's the exact way we should look at the education system :]

Great in theory, doesn't work in practice. The reality is that there are a lot of subjects that are simply to dry for most kids to learn and they need a structured environment to teach then.

I'm all for grouping by ability, but there was a very clear reason they used the pytahgorean theorem. Some many people think its useless, but its one of the most important tools for understanding 3d spaces and approximating values.

For example, just had to fill in a pook that we torn down. My yards at angle. I used the pythagorean theorem to estimate the volume of dirt I needed. Then multiplied it by the density of soil to figure out how many tons to get.

Better example, I'm a computer scientist. I created a space ship game that goes around torus. The ship is an svg that tracks its position by converting degrees to radians then using calculus. When I need to check bounding box of the laser. I use aΒ² + bΒ² = cΒ² for both directions.

Of course, there's some information all brains need regardless, and many things you simply cannot self-teach, among them vital tools for self-education, like literacy and numeracy.
