I think the problem with deciphering the meaning, is that the history of what is happening at the time with the Jewish people, the culture and social norms is not being considered along with the words in the Bible. Consequently, If the Jewish people became sick or died from eating shellfish, then this became part of their religion and history .. God didnāt speak out loud , āDonāt eat shellfish!ā
