I was 14 years old when I first started having HS pop up, my mom has it though so at least I knew what was happening, it wasn’t until my mid twenties when even some doctors I would see would have heard of it. Now in my mid thirties, I’d say 75% of doctors/specialists I see have heard of it but still only maybe 30% know what it really is. Apparently there are two forms and I have the more rare type but it develops a little slower at least. I have to wonder about comorbidity rates considering my mother and I also have other chronic conditions.
