Also known as a 'Ducking' Reverb, the reverb volume 'ducks' out of the way of the vocal. Nice one Warren!

Awesome tip! I do this type of side chaining a lot with the Pro-Qβs dynamic bands so I can zone in on a specific part of the reverb that is causing problems. Good stuff π

I've done this on almost everything after having learned about it. I'm trying to figure out when I wouldn't want to use it and go for a normal reverb.

A similar trick; if using the master 2 routing trick,..route the reverbs/delays along with instrument busses. They all get pulled down slightly together by vocals. Hi pass/lo pass adjusted for the main part of vocals so top and bottom of reverb and busses still squeak through. Either with a side-chained comp or automated e.q., (my preferred method followed by gentle comp),.

You're not actually sidechaining here though? I'm confused? Are you just compressing the reverb with no make-up?

I think Trackspacer would archieve a better result doing this, that way you can duck the signal but without having to compress a vocal which is already compressed
