New Caledonia is actually a great asset for France and the EU because the island sits on top of a nickel reserve, which has 9% of the worlds nickel inside of it. China already made their move on New Caledonia.

1)Saint Martin is part of EU, even though they are a collectivity.
2) Also in Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Saint Barthelemy the currency is €
3) The Kerguelen Islands and the scattered islands of the Indian Ocean are also included in the French Southern and Antarctic lands; the Antarctic territories are actually French only for France, but not for the international community.

I’m pretty sure that if you showed this to someone from French Guiana that would not be happy. They may be classified as EU but are treated as 2nd rate if I understand it correctly.
