Real or fake? This temple in Thailand has life-sized wax monks that look unbelievably real. They are located in the northern city of Chiang Mai, inside a temple called Wat Phra Singh, in the Old City.

Chiang Mai was founded in 1296 and it's the capital of Chiang Mai Province in northern Thailand. The name means "New City" in Thai. That's because back then it became the new capital of the Lan Na kingdom (an ancient kingdom that existed in the area). The city was also very important historically. It's strategically located on the Ping River (a major tributary of the Chao Phraya River), and close to major trading routes.
