My Daddy worked on the JA ranch around 1940. Nice for me to get a peek at it. Thanks!

That cowboy you’re riding with at the end of the video is a monster of a human! Needs a strong horse. Nice country. Thanks Kent!

My dad was one of the old timers. We used to go to many of the JA reunions. It was so amazing.

Great place Kent. We’d found the JA one trip out there a number of years ago. Went to see Barry Corbin play Charles Goodnight in the amphitheater in the PDC state park. Along with Red Steagall and others. Great time. We meandered across the JA’s, went by headquarters, out past the airstrip and ended up by Clarendon. Took 287 to see the old Goodnight home and found the cemetery too. I’d like to go back. Good times

When I first adopted my now very elderly Toy Poodle from his first family, I committed to keeping his name because he was so traumatized to lose that family who could not keep him. At the time, our cat was still on this plane, and after continued research, I discovered their names honored the founders of the Goodnight Loving trail. Due to issues already in place, my TPoo sadly never was registered with his fitting name, but has remained that boy in my heart.

An amazing (to me) side note is a beloved relative lives on the very trail Messrs Goodnight and Loving trode. And rode 😊
