It is a diabolical dynamics. Like a cat torturing a mouse. All a power play. Evil to the core.

Remember that it is not you who they love. They love that you will do anything for them no matter what.
If you try to withdraw from that role long enough, they will search for another victim.

Sometimes the positive reinforcement is just stopping the abuse for a while.

Scraps. Meanwhile you hold up the entire relationship on your own. No wonder you are tired

My mother is my narcissistā€¦..she wants nothing to do with me. Havenā€™t seen her in 5 years I can only pray for her I guess. Iā€™m her only daughter but she sure loves her sons. I get itā€¦& itā€™s on her! Very painful relationship thatā€™s for sure! Hugs to all suffering this toxicity šŸ„°

Just WALK AWAY...quit devaluing yourself by letting the narc assign value to you. NO CONTACT is the only way to be free and be who GOD meant you to be. God Bless

I've experienced this confusing behaviour with many people since I was a child and it's extremely sad that I still had contact after the terrible way they treated me most of the time. ā¤

My Dad always did this. I went no contact in my thirties and he gave everyone a sob story n turned the rest of family against me( except for my Mother who knew what he was )

Their intermittent reinforcement turns us all into Pavlovā€™s salivating dogs ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹ just remember thatā€™s how they feel towards their own mother
