I was lucky enough to be at OCS while Chelsea Manning was being held at the brig lol. Allegedly. I won’t say what the Sergeant Instructors (not DI’s for the O’s) made us get up and do in the general direction of over there at night lol. ALLEGEDLY! This was back when we had the bridge to Bobo Chow Hall. RIP to that bridge 🫡

I lived in San Diego after I got out. I saw an escaped recruit once, 5 freeway and Washington St, so he hadn’t made it far. He was OBVIOUSLY a recruit. By the time I turned around to go get him he had disappeared. I was going to convince home to let me take him back.

Thoughts yes. We were on the third floor, I knew at night the best route to the gate from that vantage point, what time was the least likely to have DIs walking around, how much money I thought I needed to get a bus ticket and don’t forget you get a debit card at one point so you could get out of the area relatively quickly. Buy a change of clothes at a goodwill and then off you go. Thoughts yes, actions, hell no lol
