(Verse 1)
City's a prison, canāt take no more,
Grindinā my teeth, fists hit the floor,
They say sit down, follow the rules,
But Iām breakinā out, yeah baby, Iām nobodyās fool.
(Pre-Chorus)
Feel the pulse, the fire inside,
A wild heartbeat and I canāt never run and hide,
Iām ready to rage, to tear it apart,
ooh!
(Verse 2)
Sick of your games, done with your lies,
Tearinā down walls, claiminā my prize,
They call me crazy, well, maybe I am,
But Iām takinā back the streets, I donāt give a damn.
(Pre-Chorus)
Feel the pulse, the fire inside,
A wild heartbeat and I canāt never run and hide,
Iām ready to rage, to tear it apart,
ooh!
(Chorus)
Kickin' the cage, Iām fightinā the chains,
Light it up, burn it down, soak it in flames,
Aināt no leashin' me, honey.
Risinā up, gonna brake on free!
(Bridge)
Wild dog loose, no leash on me,
hey. hey. hey.
(Outro)
Kickin' the cage,
Yeah Kickin' the cage.
Baby they kickin' the cage, hey!
Hey, Hey, Hey OOWW!
Hey OW!
Hey Ow
Mama they kickin my cage!
Cyna Hadum, named for Cerberus of Greek mythology, was an intense and fast paced act to explode out of the wake of the US involvement in the Vietnam War in 1973. Following Tim Watts (Johnny Savage) draft and return from his tour in Vietnam, and the resulting break up of Johnny Savage in 1972, Watts joined Frankie Brannigan and Mitch Conway, two talented British musicians who were craving a heavier and grittier sound to their rock. Cyna Hadum's debut album "American Argos" references the encroaching and watchful eyes of the American government post-Vietnam, its namesake being the many eyed monster of Greek mythology. Watts was believed to be resentful towards the US government upon returning home, particularly politicians, and quickly left the States to begin pushing boundaries with his new bandmates across Europe, before returning home again to record.
