Oh yes, that's how I was raised too, we used to make icecream in a 6 quart bucket, no fridge, so all the neighbour come by with their mugs. Best days of my life..

That is our culture. I can relate. I grew up exactly in that kind of tradition. My grandmother did all that and so is my mother.
