Freddie was incredible. He had a singular stage presence. Best frontman ever.

Diamond Dave's assessment of Freddie was spot-on.

I remember listening to Bohemian Rapsidy for the first time in my mom's car. We just got back from the grocery store. My mom got out with some groceries and I'm just sitting there listening to this song. My mom smiled and went inside. This song was so different then anything I've heard before. What a great song!

I saw Queen live in Glasgow Apollo years ago when Bohemian Rhapsody just came out. My first ever gig.....and to date....my best.

saw queen around the same time, in their prime, late 70's, roth is so right about mercury, he was a force, commanding stage presence, and the band was just wicked good, one of the best "shows" i've ever seen.

Pay attention kids. What we had was people who were genuinely committed to music. In Freddies case, all music.

I saw Queen in January’77. Louisville, Ky. Very fine show. Thin Lizzy opened. $6.00, still have the stub. I went for Lizzy, but was very impressed with Queen.

Roth is the man! Much respect to Freddie. But there will never be another Diamond Dave. His voice fit original VH so perfectly, and the character he made, not just for himself, but the whole band, became the calling cards for every kid going to high school back in the day!

I say Queen on that same tour in Waterbury's Palace Theater. Freddy was the best lead singer I've ever seen live hands done!
