I went to the worst ramen restaurant in Japan and surprisingly it was totally worth it. I was expecting the restaurant to be super weird or something but it actually was pretty normal and minimalistic. I was wondering if I was unsafe eating the food but it luckily I survived to tell the tale. One thing I can say for certain is though that if you are a fan of japanese food, don't eat this ramen haha.

I think, from my trips to Japan, it is quite difficult to get bad foods/restaurants. It doesn't mean that they don't exist, it just means that big majority of restaurants take care & pride in the dishes they prepare. With so many eateries in Japan, customers will quickly vote with their feet and bad restaurants will NOT survive for long.
