Something is hidden at the heart of the Oscars.

... It's britannium. White metal. That's what's hidden there.

As an IT technician:
"Log in" is a verb (to log in)

Britannium is still used in one field, but it's a very niche one: metal RPG miniatures. They used to be made of pewter, just as so many other things were, but pewter contains lead. With miniatures considered toys in most countries, it had to be replaced with britannium in order to meet the import laws in most places. (Also, with plastic now replacing metal in almost all RPG minis, it's dying there too.)

I love the combo of English and History lesson I get with these videos. My two least favorite subjects in school, and you have managed to make them fun for me. Thank you.

No wonder Percy was obsessed with cauldron leaks if the Hogwarts standard was pewter.

I was laughing so much when you went on the little grammar rant. It seems excatly like something I'd do if I had a platform.

White metal is also used in friction bearings due to its low melting point. The bearings usually made out of brass with the white metal forming the running surface of the axle. If the bearing gets hot, usually due to lack of lubrication, the white metal melts and gets flung everywhere. This basically gives a visual warning something's gone quite wrong.

Man, keep the stuff about metals coming. I’ve been addicted since reading the thread in that Tiffany clip where that one guy was saying you were wrong πŸ˜‚

And, though it's not the same construction as the "need to know" (action followed by direction), it sounds similar:

When a rock unit intersects the earth's surface, it forms an "outcrop". But the rock doesn't "outcrop" or "out crops"--it "crops out".

Thank you for a clear cut distinction between the two cases. I am much less likely to make that mistake again.

Sucrier has Arabic origins. In Arabic, it is called Sucria, which means "the container of sugar," and sugar is referred to as Sucar in Arabic.
