I was raised Methodist, became an atheist in my late teens, transitioned to agnostic around 30 and recently came back to faith at 43. Having said that, I always told myself that if I ever came back to faith or had an experience that opened my heart to Christs love and mercy I'd be ALL IN. That's what happened. I've tried to put myself in my old atheist shoes to try to discern what I could have told my old self to make me see the light and as of today I don't know. Breaks my heart that this guy would choose eternal damnation over following Jesus even with evidence.

I used to believe we just needed to present better arguments and have our evidence well established to convince people.
However, personal experience, as well as videos like from Frank Turek, prove over and over again that Paul was right that we all already know God is real, the evidence is in creation, and we only deny God because so many of us think we know better.
It isn't about the evidence, it's about arrogance. Man wants to dictate what is good/evil and refuse to listen to God. Even Richard Dawkins has stated nothing, absolutely zero evidence, would EVER convince him, even if the stars in the sky were rearranged to say "Dawkins, I'm God, believe me." He doesn't have a lack of evidence but lacks the humility to admit he doesn't know everything and demands God obey him and not the other way around.
It's about the heart, not the mind.

We really do underestimate the extent of our hardness of heart, the corruption of original sin. Some people will say "Well, I would follow God if he'd only prove himself to me without any question, so I had no doubt at all of his existence." Except, the Israelites saw God's presence on Sinai, some of them heard his voice, they all saw his wonders displayed against Egypt and the parting of the Red Sea, they saw the pillars of fire and cloud, they saw the divine cloud fill the Holy of Holies, and yet that generation still frequently rebelled and turned to idolatry.
We are all lost but for the grace of God to change our hearts.

If it really is true, and you really believe it, and truth matters to you, the only reasonable conclusion is to follow wherever it (and He) leads. But, as Mike says, the heart isn't always ready to follow suit. Augustine had the same problem for a while. He was convinced intellectually, but there was still a big heart hurdle standing in his way for a time.

If my country were overrun by a dictator, would I follow the dictator's commands?
Not necessarily. I would believe the country had been overrun, but it would depend on what the commands were, as to whether I would obey.
Would I agree and follow the ethos of the dictator? No never. A dictator does not deserve that.

My testimony. My dad cut his finger making dinner one night and he must have hit a vein the blood wouldnt stop. A napkin of blood was filled and he asked me to put my hand on his and we prayed and asked the lord for it to be healed and when we were done praying we lifted our hands off of the cut and i saw the flesh seal up like a zipper before my very eyes. God is Good!!!❤

Here's the thing with that question. IF Jesus were to appear in front of every man, woman and child and say "I am the risen Jesus and this is how you are to follow me..." You can be that most, not all, atheist would say 'ok'. Most Christians would tell him is wrong and turn their backs. Their response would "NO! You're doing it wrong!". Christians can even agree on which bible is the 'true' bible.

And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
Joh 3:19

I remember having to make a decision for Christ and one night I wrestled with God over commiting to Him. My prolem was I had to give up all I could do for what He alone could provide. My biggest fear was being led out into a wilderness and being left to perish there. But the vision of knowing Christ and being transformed by it was too overpowering. Yes I gave up a lot of things but wow faith in Christ has taken me lightyears from where I would have been otherwise.

Q: If it was true that jumping of a cliff you will die, would you jump?
A: define cliff.
Q: a very high vertical rock, hundreds of meters high.
A: I guess I would need more information.
Q: I mean, it's so high you will definetely die if you jump of it.
A: Well then it depends what kind of jump we are talking about...

I remember when i first got into apologetics as a young teen, i heard this question and thought “that’s silly, of course everyone would answer yes.” Then as i got older I realized that I simply took it for granted, but in reality so many people don’t reject Christianity on the basis of truth, but on the basis that they don’t like it
