Then you need to reinstall all 140GB of the current patched version after it forces you to install the rockstar launcher 😅

If Blu-ray took off with the PC market. That would been it would be one dual layer.

For PC, I understand why digital is more popular, but for consoles, I prefer physical because it gives you the benefit of lending to friends or trading in for future games

I like swapping discs to install. I got into PC gaming in the 00s so it's nostalgic.

The problem is lots of PCs are no longer built with optical media in mind. When i built mine, i made sure to get a Blu-Ray Writer for my own uses. Now, blu-ray can hold a lot more data than a CD or DVD. If opictal media was more popular on PC, then we would probably all have Blu-Ray drives in our PCs. And if we did, physical PC games probably would have made the switch over to Blu-Ray just like console games did, and we wouldn't have to deal with 7-disc PC games.

Ha, i remember when final fantasy IX came out on PlayStation with 4 discs, or when Rage came out on 3 discs.

I remember finding this game super cheap at Wal-Mart during Black Friday 2017, and being absolutely flabbergasted when I opened it up and found SEVEN DVDs in there!

Were it not for Steam coming out in the early 2000s, BluRay drives would’ve been more widely adopted in computers, and thus physical PC releases would’ve been much like PS3 and, later, PS4/Xbox One releases in that they didn’t have to have nearly as many discs

This was actually pretty common in the mid 2000’s as companies were too scared to shift to DVDs completely (usually games had 2 editions, Standard and Collectors Editions). Many big name games like Half-Life 2, Far Cry, F.E.A.R., and Call Of Duty 2 were all on 5-6 CD-Roms (with 1-2 disc DVD versions sold as well).
