I've been growing vegetables in my backyard for a few years now. I usually grow everything in containers, but this year I added two raised beds.
I was totally unprepared for how MASSIVE everything would get when I grew them in raised beds.
As you'll see from this garden tour video, everything is a bit too crowded and probably not pruned enough... Also, you're definitely not supposed to shove 6 tomato plants in there... I've been pruning and pruning but they're completely entangled now.
There's been a lot of learning and experimenting this year, but honestly I wouldn't do it any other way.
Do you grow your plants in containers, raised beds, or directly in the ground? Let me know! I love hearing about other people's gardens!
๐ข Raised beds are the @welcometovita brand and were purchased from @costco_ca.
๐ข Most of my edible plants are grown from seed. And most of the seeds were purchased from @westcoastseeds.
๐ข Raised beds were filled with a modified hugelkultur method, with @promixgardening organic mix on the top foot.
๐ข All of my plants were fertilized with a 4-4-4 all-purpose food and worm castings from @gaiagreenorganics.
