In my opinion, for the LA/OC scene, live music has very little to do with your streams. For example: we’ve played with groups with hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners who can barely break ticket quotas of 60. Meanwhile, a band like mine who barely scrape 120 monthly listeners, will breeze through a 60 minimum quota without needing to put much effort into promoting the show. It really depends on what your live performances have to offer, and the types of supporters you attract. It’s always scary looking at artists doing well on Spotify who barely meet a ticket quota while they are in talks with labels. If they get signed and can only make money off of tours, I always hope they can get those numbers up live.

Hey I love your videos and I'm trying to apply your principles, but I wanted to give you some advice which is that sometimes your text on vids move so fast I barely get to process the rest of your excellent performance/editing! I'm at a bar and can't listen so the text is huge and I can follow it but if each phrase was longer my brain would be able to keep up with everything else that's happening. Unless you're a genius and you WANT me to watch it over and over again 🫠🫠🤔🤔 damn son you s

We went from having less than 30 monthly listeners to over 6000 from having some of our online videos do well. We play lots of shows, but for us, the online stuff has really been where all of our listeners and merch sales come from. Although there's artists in our city who have very few monthly listeners who can get a good crowd at their shows (at least in our small city). Sometimes people get popular locally, sometimes others get discovered online. Our music is pretty niche and our city is only like 130,000 so makes sense that we got found online rather than locally
