According to lore, the “Kingdom Anti Yield Operative” project was meant to be cancelled as it was a rejected proposal, however KAY/O was still built in spite of this rejection. And a double meaning of “KAY/O,” is 'Kill All Your Opponents,’ as expressed in one of KAY/O’s voicelines and likely having something to do with KAY/O being resentful about being a rejected build (maybe relating to the fact that he can express emotions despite being centered around the theory of being built around AI).
