You can definitely be poor and date if you understand EFFORT! Some of my best dates were in college when we were both broke af. He was creative. We did free shit that was fly.
Side note I met a couple who met as drug addicts experiencing homelessness. Together they were able to get out of that cycle. Having a partner benefits your life....truly....if you both have the intention of living each other up

I wouldn't say its about making a certain amount of money because we ALL prioritize what we spend on money on different - lifestyle choices.
HOWEVER, I will say that if you can't afford the necessities in life. The basics, then no, you should not date. Your partner should not have to struggle or scale back in order to be in a relationship with you. And it doesn't matter if they're broke too.
Also, brokeness oftentimes occurs due to poor choices. If you're not a good steward of money, you need to work on that before going on dates where you're watching your date eat because you can only afford 1 meal.

When most men are poor, they become depressed, they take their frustrations on the people closest to them ( usually their partner) that’s a big part of why men shouldn’t date when they’re not financially together.
