Hot water definitely breaks things down better than cold water. And breaking down amendments should help release nutrients. This all makes sense to me.

except its not free...dehumidifiers are not efficient at all. the older the unit and the dirtier the environ it oeprates in enhances chances of contamination. each batch can be different. so the electric plus the testing...🤷

I believe that the hot water helps aid in the decomposition. its kinda like how things in a forest decompose slower than they would in a tropical forest due to the higher temperatures. The fungi and bacteria work faster to break down the organic material than it would in a colder environment. so yes, the molecular structure is changing to a more plant available chemical from my understanding.
