The most frustrating thing Iâve found is when someone believes they have a right to force me to re-live the worst moments of my life, so they can âunderstandâ me more. If you didnât go through you it, you canât understand it. No one is owed. It doesnât bring you closer, in my experience it creates a divide that can never be crossed. The assumption that you could possibly understand it, and your âneedâ to know arenât to benefit them, itâs to benefit you.
If you actually want to understand, and make a difference. Donât pry. Either you accept them as they are today or not, you make them aware youâre there, but knowing or not knowing wonât change how you feel, and thatâs the end of your engagement with it. Love isnât knowing everything, it is accepting people for who they are, and not forcing.
