Meet our family. We are Dustin and Burton, gay dads, and proud parents of our twins, Stone and Holland Buffaloe. We created our family vlog, "Raising Buffaloes," as a resource for all. We are an All American Family, who happen to be gay parents through surrogacy. On our channel, you will see videos of our family adventures and grasp what it's like to raise kids in the south as a gay couple. Our dad vlog captures our parenting and fatherhood journey, but you'll find much more. We open up about our coming out journey, relationship and marriage tips, and how to live life with a little more laughter. We use our voice to shed light and awareness to the LGBTQ+ community, gay rights equality, and opening eyes to others. Family has many definitions, and this is ours. As the mother of a member of the LGBTQ+ community, my heart breaks for every child who had to worry about admitting who they were at home. Parents have to do more than just support their own kids- be a visible ally. Be the one who says out loud, āIf you donāt feel safe at home, you can come to my house and we will call law enforcement or social services togetherā Be the one who wears the Free Mom (Dad, Uncle, Grandma!) Hugs shirt out in public. Show up with your kid or because you honor your kid the next time thereās a Pride event. Be willing to make those huge sacrifices if an adolescent from this community needs an adult they can count on. Always. We have to be part of the change š

I think the hardest part is teaching people that being born gay is not a choice just as being born straight is not a choice. Things happen in utero we donāt truly understand. People are born with certain skin colors and theyāre often hated for that. Again, these people donāt get to choose. We need to accept people for what they are. Teaching our children and grandchildren to be loving and empathetic is the first step. Children mimic what they see, be it love and compassion or hate and bigotry. Iām so thankful for these YouTube videos that will give comfort and understanding to the youth who are struggling to accept their identities. Keep up the good work! I think you, Burton, Holland, and Stone are lovely lights in a sometimes dark world!

I didnāt have the issues a lot of our younger members of our LGBT+ community in the past and currently. Iām in my 40ās now and cannot stand the mere thought of being subjected to that kind of fear, hate or both in 2024! Sad state of affairs today, but we (like you all and your audience) can and will make a difference to create a more loving and tolerant society.
YOUNG PEOPLE: YOU ARE loved, needed, important, and you are worth all of us in this community standing up and in the gap for you!

People can't help how they are born. These people are special like anyone else. We aren't to judge people. I wish I could help these people to encourage them. Taking your life is not the answer it causes your friends and family grief. Always remember someone loves you regardless of how you feel about yourself. There's someone who can help you, don't give up on life. Please there's someone who loves you.

Very well said, Dustin. I wish we could come to a place in this world where LGBTQ+ people as well as people of colour can just simply be accepted, no questions asked, no explanations required. There should be no need for gay or trans people to have to ācome outā, they should simply be allowed to be. Itās difficult enough in this world with personality clashes, do we really have to create more problems by not liking a personās skin colour, their sexuality or the fact that they feel more comfortable with a gender thatās not their own?
