This is the right way to do it. Idk why people are complaining about optimization. 1) this could be for an animation or render, which would prioritize realism/looks over render optimization. 2) there are soooo many ways to optimize this for gamedev, this is the best way to get a realstic look before baking to a low poly mesh

Im not even a beginner artist and this was the first idea i had. It is very intuitive. The most complicated thing would be to look for the tutorial on how to duplicate and drop the apples if you don't do it.

For a round object like an apple use convex hull, not mesh. Runs quicker.

Real pros parent hand made low poly collision mesh to an instance and save 80% of memory allowing for scenes to be bigger then few objects. + you could decimate that apple and box a little more i'm sure hahah.
