When I was 7 or 8 we had to do a mandatory gymnastics course. The gymnastics coach hated those of us who couldn't do it due to our disabilities. I myself have dyspraxia so I can't balance properly. The coach often gave me really low marks when I kept falling off of the beam. I do other sports now but I will never forget.

My old gymnastics coach didn’t have a favorite, but she had a very obvious least favorite, and everyone who also disliked her would get special treatment. I was that least favorite and also I quit gymnastics :D

This triggers me. I had a coach that hated me. (& I mean she grimaced when she had to give me a medal once) I don’t know what it was, I was a quiet kid, but extremely well behaved (police parents) she would do ANYTHING to keep me from the top ranks. (We were ranked each season) she’d make me do the same thing for months on end because I wasn’t “practiced enough”. I put up with it at the time, we were talking about it a little while ago and my mother said “yes, I don’t know why she didn’t like you much, probably because you were taller than her at 10”
I stuck with her until I was 18. I looked her up not so long ago and she’s still coaching, people love her, she’s very serious about gym, so I think it was because I did sport to have fun, I wasn’t that bothered about winning competitions. I don’t think she liked that.
To all the kids going through this- just have fun, it’s the adults problem not yours. (Unless you’re a gobby brat- in which case. Stop it) 😂
