Dos du ah Yiddishe shmooze. What would a soldier need from a chasid? A gun? Bullets? Grenades? No. Maybe some food or water, could be. Instead, he asks for tzitzis, a heretofore secular Jew, that's what he literally begs for . Because he understands what he needs is more valuable than anything else he could receive.
