Hot Take: the world sucks worse because people are looking for someone to control things and "care" for us.
without fail the people that step into that gap are evil in proportion to how remote they are from your physical existence.
we used to need food, so we went out and hunted a deer, when we brought it back people were proud of us, we felt useful and celebrated and our lives had meaning.
now a faceless beaurocracy and system has "cared for us" by giving us our meat on a plastic plate, and then we work a grinding job noone cares about, to buy a meat from another human in a job noone cares about, then bring it home to people who don't care at all either.
nothing is difficult, nothing is acheived, so noone is proud. we are safely meaningless.
