Sin is a misplaced good by the sinner. When someone sins they are separating themselves from God, not staining Him, because they are misaligning themselves away from the perfect good that is Christ.

The goal is not not to die in mortal sin while the ultimate is becoming a saint on earth to even avoid venial sins until the end with Gods grace of course. This of course is summarized.

1. If God is omnipotent, he can create whatever kind of creation he wants to... Perfect or imperfect.
2. If God creates perfect creatures with free will, those perfect creatures can still choose to not be perfect.
The premise of Christianity holds that perfect creatures, as a result of temptation and their own free will, chose to become imperfect and strayed from God's plan to follow their own desires instead.
This is not a proof against Christianity, this is just ignorance of Christianity...
