You’re local market reminds me so much when I was younger. Here in Central Minnesota we used to have a place called Jerry’s market. It was family owned farming share cropping type business hired school kids in the summer while they were on summer vacation to help with the crops and in the fall and spring. Everything that was brought to the market, right on the outskirts of the town St. Cloud, Minnesota was all homegrown fruits and vegetables, sweetcorn, squash, tomatoes, strawberries, everything could imagine. When the fast food chains came like McDonald’s and Burger King people started eating junk food, then the supermarket chains, and that ran him out of business.
I miss that place and I think a lot of people that I know do as well. We are starting to get more and more farmers markets popping up in local grocery store parking lots which is a good thing. But it’s nowhere near what we really should be doing for people.
We should be eating healthy, rather than processed prepared foods that you can throw in the microwave in five minutes. Or Burger King McDonald’s, etc..
I haven’t eaten at either of those for over a decade and honestly don’t miss it
I’m glad you guys have a good healthy life , actually kind of jealous
