Hydroponic Diary.. Day 8. Spinach Seed Update!

Paper Towel Method:

1. Prepare the paper towel
Dampen a paper towel by dipping it in water and wringing out excess water. You can also line a container with 3–4 sheets of paper towel and lightly pour water over them. (I put mine in a ziploc bag)

2. Add the seeds
Place the seeds in the center of the damp paper towel. The number of seeds you can add depends on the size of your planting area.

3. Fold or cover the paper towel
If you're using a single paper towel, you can fold it over the seeds. If you're using multiple sheets, you can cover the container with a lid, leaving it slightly open to allow for air circulation. (I poured a cap full of hydrogen peroxide with water, folded, and put it in a ziploc bag. The ziploc bag was placed in the microwave)

4. Put it in a warm place
Place the paper towel in a plastic bag and put it in a warm spot, like a laundry room, sunny window, or sunroom, where the temperature is between 65–75°F.

5. Monitor the seeds
Check on the seeds and the towel's moisture periodically. If the towel dries out, you can mist it. You should also watch for signs of mold, as a sealed bag can create conditions that encourage mold growth. Depending on the type of seed, it could germinate in three days.
