As I’ve said before- without trauma- WHO ARE THEY!?! My characters traumas give them motive to fight, gives them an adventure, gives them purpose! Grows their character, their story, their SELF! Without that- They’re just boring simple everyday nobody’s with nothing special setting them apart… their trauma it- IT…
Gives them a chance against the big bad because they realize they can’t fight her yet and lose their brother in front of their eyes in the first fight against big bad and then have to run away and train before they try fighting again-
Gives them a motive to hunt down and kill the AU version of them traveling the multiverse to kill the AU who haunted his dreams and made him do horrible things he never wanted to do, mutilating his body, driving him insane, and causing so much pain that he has to get revenge on the one who caused that, which happens to be his literal AU self in another universe …

Personally, I don’t like the “giving trauma to your OCs” trope, it’s overused and plain in my opinion.
