Chestiunea sustinerii de catre stat este un aspect sensibil. Statul nu va da ceva fara sa ceara in schimb. Va veni timpul scadentei, cu siguranta. Biserica are nevoie, intotdeauna a avut, de calauzirea si plinatatea Duhului Sfânt. Cand El a lipsit biserica a apelat la alte mijloace de sustinere, statul, de exemplu. Sigur ca nu putea urma decat regres. In istoria crestinismului timpuriu, sub presiune si interdicții continue, in martiraj, biserica s-a raspandit in toata lumea de atunci. Se pare ca ura autoritatilor pe față face mai bine Bisericii decat sustinerea ei financiară.
