On a theoretical level, I have no clue if that last question should matter or not. But for me, it does a whole bunch. I remember trying to make sense to a cosmological point a view close to zen when I tried to believe in it and walk the walk. And I remember trying to just be an observer of "consciousness" appearing here and disappearing there, just... because... And doing that, while suffering and being miserable, seemed very depressing. Staring at the abyss or something like that, isn't it ?
And by the way, I don't believe in Christianity because it makes me feel better, but it still does make me feel better.
Great question(s).

God has to be all-powerful to be helpful, but He also has to be all-loving to have motivation to help me.
Many things are more powerful than me, but they donāt care about me and will not help me.
God is not like that.
God is both absolute power and pure love.
Participation in that is healing for my soul.
Why does God have to be pure love?
To use Jonathanās words in another video, love is unity in multiplicity ā just like the Holy Trinity.
To love someone is to embrace them without consuming or destroying them.
To love is to embrace another without losing oneās own identity.
Just as Christ descended from heaven and was born in the flesh, so that His divinity did not destroy His humanity nor His humanity lessen His divinity ā an image of the sacrament of marriage ā so it is with love. ā¦ļø

The question matters to him because he, like all Christians who earnestly seek Christ, wishes for you to experience the Love that only our personal, intimate, and utterly selfless God has to offer. You donāt have to ābelieveā in it, but if you decide to try living it for no other reason than to shut us up or see what all the fuss is about, I promise that everything else will fall into place as they should. You are never alone. God loves you.
