He's right, of course. The drider, I mean. Undead shadows create more shadows when they kill. Feeding them is stupid and even with the protection of the lantern makes the passage that much more dangerous in the future.

Kar’niss really has it out for that Goblin in particular, since he straight up kills her in the cutscene that plays out if you ambush him with the Harpers and ignores the Half-Orc’s plea to stop. Interesting detail.
