Weirdly I never take the bus; I go downtown on the metro but buses are a bit intimidating to me - I can never figure out how the routes work.

Maybe i should move to DC. My mom and I were just discussing the lack of public transit in the US. Her, and her man travel the world and have seen the difference. I wish our society here wasn't so geared around cars. You can't go anywhere without one besides perhaps a few select areas that do provide good public transportation. I'm on disability and can't afford a car so life is so much harder for me because of it. It causes me a lot of stress actually and it affects my already poor health.

After you mentioned about not having to show proof of purchase, I realized that happened to us in Miami on the train. I wondered why they didn’t check our ticket. So sad

I'm in the Cleveland burbs.. we have a decent public transit system. The train runs east/west for the most part with plenty of bus lines throughout the county.
