I've always thought that his voice fit the depth of their intellectual message. To me, it sounded like a rock version of the voice of wisdom. Incredible band!

Best band . Ever . Never change my mind . In this lifetime there will never ever be a better band . A lot of great bands out there doin their thing and I give them a lot of my time BUT no one will influence me musically and personally as much as Rush and no band can form, start pumping out albums and tours as often and repetitively as much as they did , while NOT regurgitating the same sound as their first album . It’s like seeing a couple start dating in 1st grade and never breaking up , growing old and dying grandparents happily in one another’s arms . No other band can do this my friends

I hate when people say Danny Carey is the best drummer in the world (cause he sure the fuck isn’t) but he DOES do a lot of coordinated stuff with electric/acoustic kits . He gets nervous and fucks up when they played together live for Taylor Hawkins but I bet if he practiced with them he would get in the zone and nail it. Portnoy would be great . Jimmy Chamberlin , Tim Alexander , Gavin Harrison , Matt Cameron (since he did so well on Geddys Solo album) . I’d LOVE to hear them play with Phil Collins but check his health . It’s very sad .

This is one of the purest examples of revisionist social media horse exhaust that I’ve had the displeasure of viewing. There is absolutely no comparison between the superior voice of Robert Plant and the screeching tinny wail of Geddy Lee. In the late 1970s Lee’s voice was perfectly described as “a Guinea Pig high on Amphetamines”. Lee’s voice is one of the primary reasons that the music of Rush didn’t resonate with a larger audience and they only sold 40 million albums over a their 40 year career. In comparison, Led Zeppelin sold over 300 million albums during their 12 year career. Ignorance is bliss until it isn’t.

Rolling stone guy bull you bashed Rush in the 70's 80's,90's and all the 2000's Rush and Getty were are and always be one of the greatest bands of all time ! Will miss them coming to Chicago forever now ! RIP Neil 😢
