I think the 2003 Hulk is severely underrated:
It really establishes that tragic and intense feel that should go hand in hand with the character, especially with the soundtrack.
The Hulk is an absolute tank; I think this film resonates a lot with people who are normally quiet and reserved but have a lot pent up inside.
Eric Bana is probably the most talented actor to play Bruce Banner.

My Dad's favorite character is the Hulk and he has also noticed how much of a downfall the character has in the MCU. He has the entire old serie of The Hulk in disks, we used to watch it almost every week together. Is just sad seeing and hearing my Dad's disappointment in Marvel these few years.

Hulk is one of the most complex comic book characters, and adaptations tend to scratch the surface of how much of a deeply traumatized and psychologically fractured character both Hulk and Bruce Banner respectfully are. This movie may be cheesy and have weird CGI. Still, you cannot deny they actually did a great job displaying how interesting Hulk and Bruce as a character can be, especially with his trauma from his mother's death and his own father's emotional manipulation and physical abuse. It's a modern-day Jekyll and Hyde that reflects the inner anger and inability to process deep-seated trauma channelling inside Bruce to eventually become the Hulk, and despite how much they to proclaim to hate each other, they protect each other. That's why I wish the MCU could go back to what made the Hulk such an interesting character, not just because he's an almost unbeatable rage-filled force of destruction, but his psychology and mental struggle. Though I understand why we have Professor Hulk ever since Endgame, I feel like that direction for the character has overstayed its welcome without truly diving into the process of growth and mental stability that lead to Bruce and Hulk becoming one person and how there is so much more to him than general audiences only get a glimpse of.
