How to Do Bohemian Locs At Home 👸🏾
This is 100% beginner friendly! Time consuming, but definitely worth the savings 💰
Hair used: Hawaiian Clover Locs, 24” in colour 2.
I dipped each pack upside down in boiled water. This will help straighten the locs. Set aside to dry
Additional Items you’ll need:
⁃ Crotchet hook
⁃ Tail comb
⁃ Shine and jam
⁃ Afro twist hair to wrap in colour 2
⁃ Any water wave synthetic hair
⁃ Scissors
⁃ Got2be gel (black bottle)
⁃ Nail glue
For reference, I’m 5’2/160cm and these locs are bum length.
I also left about an inch gap from the beginning of my braid when crocheting the locs, which makes them appear even longer!
Hair Prep Tips:
⁃ Blow dry your hair thoroughly
⁃ Focus on really stretching out the hair closest to your scalp and smoothing out those waves and coils. Opening up the pre-made loops is key! This combination will give the style a clean knotless middle part look
Back of Head Tips:
⁃ Use a 3-way mirror to see the back of your head. The exact one I used is linked in my Amazon storefront!
⁃ Your arms WILL get tired, so just do your best. The back of your head is not your problem anyway 🤷🏾♀️
For full transparency this took me 2.5 days as a beginner. The clips used in the beginning of this video were 2 weeks after the initial install! All in all, this style is holding up reallyy well and none of the locs have unravelled!
