I woke up today and I had a bunch of questions about Starbucks
drinks. And essentially, the long and short is, you know,
are there healthy Starbucks drinks? Or, you know, can I have
Starbucks drinks if I'm trying to eat healthier? And, you know,
the true answer to that is everybody has to decide what foods
they want to incorporate into their dietary approach to make healthy
eating feel sustainable in the long run.

So that is a personal decision. I mean, healthy is so vague.
I mean, is a Starbucks drink healthy like broccoli is healthy?
Niche. Niche. But you know where we're going with this.

What I do like to do is if I or my kids want one of those fun,
know, coffee drinks, I always just ask for a small, and then
I ask for one pump of whatever the sweetener is. So you would
be surprised. Sometimes even the smallest sizes come with two,
three, even four pumps of added sweetener. So you just
ask for one. You get the small, and it's kind of like you
can have your cake and eat it, too. That's just the way I like
to approach it. What about you?

Frankly, I love YOUR pumpkin spiced coffee recipe WAY better than Starbucks. It's a treat AND it's healthy AND it's less expensive AND it tastes amazing!!! I make it once a week or so fall through early spring! Thanks for YOUR great recipes!!!!

Your approach is exactly how I approach it. Your approach is better with the sense you go small and one pump….. I usually will do grande and half the amount of sweetener they would normally do…… but I think I am going to adopt what you do if you don’t mind lol

1 in 3 adults in this country have prediabetes and most don’t know it. I was one of those and no longer frequent Starbucks. I’ve LOST 33 pounds and FOUND lots of extra dollars in my monthly budget. Just my personal experience but I don’t want anyone to have the horrible scourge that is type 2 diabetes.

I get fewer sweeteners too! You still get the fun seasonal flavor without all the sugar. Barring the desire for the seasonal fun, I get plain lattes which I really enjoy. 😊

I feel like we should enjoy our drinks with no guilt behind it. Also, it's important to listen to your body when you're satisfied and drink them in moderation.

I don’t mean to give a trashy answer but Starbucks made it VERY easy for me to never support their business ever again when not one but two different customer service reps treated me like garbage on my birthday last year. They clearly don’t know how to treat people well in that regard nor what they put into their drinks. 👎🏻👎🏻
I thank you Dani for being an advocate for healthier alternatives that in the end taste BETTER than Starbucks!!

I gave up going to Starbucks several years ago. Although I drink more herbal tea now I still enjoy cold brew ice coffee a couple times a week but I make it myself. Making better choices is like any habit, the more you do it the more automatic it becomes.

That is a great answer, we all know if you’re buying a coffee drink it may have lots of extra. If I buy from Starbucks it’s Americano black 2 sugars. I’m cheap. 😊

I totally agree with you on the Starbucks thing. I get the Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew. The tall has about four grams of sugar. Not bad compared to the other drinks!
