While portions of the Gospel of Thomas may contain an early sayings Gospel, the rest of these Gnostic Gospels were written later than even later the canonical Gospels & thus are even further removed from the historical Jesus.
That said, I believe these writings are important & think it's horrible how the Church persecuted the Gnostics & sought too surpress their writings.

People would rather believe in a beautiful lie than accept the ugly truth. The historical reality of a wandering rabbi preaching to the illiterate iron-age goat herders and fishermen could be true. However: There is no evidence of that rabbi becoming a supernatural being. That preacher evolved over time into a god-like legend as has happened to many other historical people becoming gods.

I appreciate her looking them up, but she should also see why these others were rejected by the church. For example, the Gospel of Thomas was actually dated to the 2nd Century, which was after the time of the Apostles. It was a fraudulent Gospel, written by a group of Gnostics. Same with the Gospel of Mary.

Biggest problem with the world is that the majority of people refuse to live according to the Bible we have . Clearly, it would make no difference if there were 100 more gospels . God controls EVERYTHING and made sure we have all the Word we need to have . IMO.

She should have been atleast honest. Bc they werent written when the 4 gospels were written. And they were also written by gnostics who had bizzare beliefs that dont fit in the judeo christian belief system.

Jesus came to Earth and all the people were sinners, and today we have legal and illegal sinners and the legal sinners believe they are above the illegal sinners.
The pastor tells me there are only two people Jews and gentiles and I said there's no difference because both or sinners, regardless if you repent or not you will remain or Santa until your debt is paid
