#TakmakFort: Discover the historic Takmak Fort, located in Sakwar Village within Palghar District, Maharashtra. Just 22 km from Virar Railway Station and approximately 80 km north of Mumbai, this fort is a hidden gem waiting to be explored.

Historical Significance: Constructed in the 12th century by King Bheemdev, son of King Bhimdev, Takmak Fort later came under the control of the Sultans. It's believed that the legendary King Shivaji also captured this fort along with Kohaj and Asheri. After King Shivaji, the Portuguese took over its supervision.

How to Reach:

By Train: Take a local train to Virar Station (Western Railway). From there, proceed to Virar Phata via shared auto or state bus, and then take a Tuk-Tuk (8-seater auto) to Sakwar Village. By Car: If you're driving, use this location code: HW7V+MC4, Ganje, Maharashtra 401102.
