That would be just enough time to finish one Civilization VI match

This has a lot of potential and the need for social interaction is holding a lot of people back, 500 years to study a topic and I'm the smartest man in the world, 500 years to train any particular skill and I'm the best at it in all of history...i could be on ng+ 10000 on elden ring

Considering that the human brain has a memory limit of around 300 years, you are gonna need that perfect recall if you want to not develop uber dementia.

I do it. Anyone that does this would be completely unstoppable as long as they can get over the fact that they can handle no social interactions

Friend: Yeah I'd accept.

Me: I know exactly what type of man you are.

I would do it if I could bring at least 5 people with me as well. Loneliness would cripple me if I were alone, 1-2 other people wouldn't be enough and we would most likely end up distrusting or harming each other, at least 5 people would keep most of the years filled with at least enough stimulation, conversation, and variation to keep me and everyone else sane throughout.

People really don’t understand what loneliness does to a person. Even introverts require some form of communication. I mean they have to interact with their parents and such. I think 5 year max is what a human can handle being alone.

If i could take one person with me, i would accept. Otherwise, i would accept the offer too, but it would be a bit boring

No one would be able to survive 500 years alone. People go crazy for a fraction of that time. Good luck imagining you’re different!

Absolutely I’m taking it. I’d find a way to become Modern day Lex Luthor.

Step 1 Go in front of your homie
Step 2 say “look what I can do”
Step 3 do it with everyone of his family including him and leave him a note saying “your ass hurts? Imagine your mother’s”
Step 4 wait the rest of the years to see your prank finally come true

That sounds like a nightmare. 500 years of total isolation. Youd go insane.

Reminds me of a manhua i read called "everyone else is a returnee" (46 chapters). The guy is alone on earth for 1000 years with only an angel as his companion... he used the time well, read every book in existence, travelled the world, worked out non stop, mastered every skill under the sun etc... really great story, when the rest of the population came back, it was like only a year for them i think. Really great concept.

I would do this. I would also choose the perfect recall. Things I would would be,
1. Learn every language I could
2. Train with every type of weapon I could get
3. Do weight training/calisthenics
4. Read books many varieties of books
5. Learn everything I can on robotics, coding, and prosthetics
6. Advance my knowledge of technology
7. Build my self advanced technology/weapontry before the time ends.

I accept. It will be lonely, it will be devastating, it can even drive me insane. But me being able to travel to places like Ireland and Scotland, read as many books as possible. And the best of all, I can write a book about a man's struggle upon experiencing such fate.

I’d take it. Being 500 years smarter, being able to read anything I want, work my body into something better, and perfect recall would all be useful. Plus, I know I’ll be lonely, but after 500 years, it would make what I have now that much sweeter. And I would appreciate that.

Reminds me of the Futurama episode where Fry breaks the 10 second time machine and him and Leela are the only ones left on earth not frozen in time. They both spend that time together doing whatever they want on earth.
