Being in the company of serious students, dedicated teachers, and scholars does more than just improve your knowledge—it redefines your entire understanding of what’s possible.

When you’re surrounded by people whose standards push them to extraordinary heights, it’s impossible not to be affected.

You start seeing the Qur’an being revised like it’s second nature, or students memorizing five, six, even seven pages in a day.

That kind of commitment and excellence becomes normal.

You realize that the limits you once placed on yourself were never real; they were just products of your own assumptions, boundaries you didn’t even know you’d built.

This environment destroys limiting beliefs, not with motivational words but by sheer example.

You’re no longer satisfied with “good enough,” because you’ve seen what true dedication looks like—students treating a Juz like it’s light work, teachers holding themselves to standards most people can’t even imagine.

You find yourself humbled, inspired, and driven all at once.

This is the power of being around people who are serious in their pursuit of knowledge.

It reprograms your mind to aim higher, to see what’s possible when you remove the crutches and excuses and let your potential stretch. And in that space, you’re not just learning Qur’an or Hadith—you’re learning discipline, endurance, and a love for knowledge that’s woven into the actions of those around you.

The right environment becomes a silent teacher, one that challenges you without words, motivates you without praise, and holds you to a standard that’s worthy of the knowledge you seek.

Surround yourself with that, and the results will speak for themselves.

This is also a reminder to encourage others to do good deeds by doing good deeds yourself and being a good muslim to inspire others to do so (of course do all your good deeds for the sake of Allah, insha Allah)

This may also lead you to getting good deeds for the good deeds other people do because theyve been inspired by you
Lead by example along with giving advice to turn this ummah around for the better and to help the future generations of muslims.

Which is why this environment of standards is essential.
As someone living in the west in a family that barely prays when I learn a new surah my parents tell me "enough you already know more than enough".

I barely know juz Amma what do you mean enough?
They think it distracts me from getting an education and as for my akhira they show little concern.

And sometimes the nafs tells you "look at you and what you know" but when you hoar of the sahaba and even more so contemporary people like these you see that you are nothing.

And the thing with the people Im surrounded with(family and friends) is that noone cares.
To them thise 5-8 surahs they learned as kids is enough.

But I cannot see it that way.
And I cant seem to move out of this hole as obviously its my family.

To be around great people is necessary to become greater.
You know...if your're the smartest in the room...

But I cant leave the room as Im not independant yet.
Looks like I'll have to go through this a while longer.
