Incline Dumbbell Curls are one of my favorite exercises for building biceps mass and strength. Here’s 2 key reasons why:

1) Increased biceps brachii muscle activation through the muscles full range of motion. This results in better hypertrophy and strength, especially compared to a preacher curl which was demonstrated in peer-reviewed studies to activate the muscle throughout a smaller range of motion.

2) Biceps Tendon injury prevention. By extending your shoulder to perform the exercise, you are placing more stretch/tension on your biceps tendon (which strengthens the tendon in a controlled way that is less prone to injury). This increased strength then prevents long term injury to the tendon.
