Power steering pumps run off the (now adays serpentine belt and (back in the day ) it was a separate belt ran off the motor ! You water pump ,power steer pump, cooling fan and (if it is equipped) ac all runs off the crank pulley on front of the motor ā¦.
When you steer full lock to one side (especially on old v belt vehicles) you putting strain on the pumps (theyāre working) no different than a lawn mower that bogs down in deep wet grass !
Every car idles lower when your wheels turned dude ā¦ that car was just junk and belts were too tight lmao š¤¦āāļø
