DL Moody was criticized by a woman for the way he evangelized. He very wisely just asked her how she did it. She fumbled around and then she said I don't really. And he said well I like the way I do it better than the way you don't do it

I've been convicted lately to majorly step up in this area. We have to have a heart for the lost! It also forces us to strip out distractions and unimportant things that are taking away from our walk.

It is easy to forget that we are all ministers to the world, particularly our local slice.
When I say we, I mean me. I'M a minister. in my circle of influence, I am THE minister. This includes Evangelism.
I need to be reminded of this, daily.

Heart to Heart School of Evangelism travels around the US, training congregations on how to do congregational evangelism. Exactly what Mike is talking about, where every member of the body has a role to play and a part to contribute to the miasion as a whole. They were just at my congregation about a month ago, we are still working theough the curriculum they left us but we are hopeful that the model they taught us will be successful.

I have always found it difficult to evangelize. I think it's because I start with the premise in my mind that the other person, like a neighbor, doesn't want to hear about God. It's also difficult to just throw the gospel into a random conversation. I really struggle with this.

I can't even count how many old people I've met from church that have grumbled, "oh this country is going downhill, the church is dying" etc. etc. while not doing a thing to change it. And it's not even just old people, young people also judge non-Christians or Christian leaders all the time too. What you said is so true and needs to be echoed everywhere. We all have the power and responsibility to live out our faith and to build up the church.

I've evangelized before and I've had people tell me stuff like "Buzz off" and "You're f*cking stupid" and sometimes it hurts so I get why some people don't want to do it especially in public

My kid has such boldness I never had. She was having discussions on Jesus with a Hindu friend in 4th grade. She inserts God's goodness and love in conversation with ease. She's not mean or aggressive about it. Sowing seeds everywhere, letting the Holy Spirit work the ground. And how kind is God to allow me to learn from a little one! I continue to pray He gives me the knowledge and wisdom needed to keep answering the questions she and her friends have.
I say this because where I have temporarily lost sight of what we are called to do, she jumped in with both feet. She didn't wait for our pastor or me to tell her, she just wants people to know Jesus too.
