When I was 8 I got lost in the woods with 2 of my friends who were 9 and 7 anyway when they started crying and giving up I told them we only need to walk in one direction we will eventually get out and see the streets and we did, and when we were close to home all of our families and friends were looking for us, I remember how my mom was in so much distress I felt so bad lol

My kids have always said I was too over protective. But after having my brother as well as 5 friends murdered. Plus 2 people I went to school with. I didn’t trust anyone around my children . Yes I was overprotective. My oldest is now 42 and my baby is 37. I still worry about them every day.
To keep from having a nervous breakdown . I had to put them in God’s hands and pray that he would protect them. But God expects us to do our part !

My father took us (7 kids) to a Safeway to do some shopping. This was in the 70's and I was allowed to walk freely with my siblings, we started playing hide and seek in the store. I, being the cleverest hid under an empty box on the floor. After a while, with no one finding me, I realised they had in fact took off. I was abandoned, in the supermarket, the staff took me to the front entrance and there was my family racing back through the car park! My father had miscounted his kids when he exited, but glad someone spoke up and told him I was missing.
