These are in swaledale in north yorkshire. They are old lead mines.

The ones I know about in North Yorkshire are from lead mining - the tunnels were flues to take the toxic smoke from the smelter to chimneys high on the hillside

Definitely mining, years ago for hundreds of years mining was the biggest industry for England, so much so thousands of workers were brought over from other European countries

Including the location would help most.

If that's a chimney it's a major clue, but a quick shot from that persoective might make it a round tower.

Such tall chimneys make send for foundries, and possibly kilns or nrick works. The classic caternary arch of the tunnels mayches that of pottery kilns, bit there are mo sherfs, bricks or flame marks shown.

Looks like the flue which brings the smoke from the furnace at the bottom of the hill up to the chimney on top.
Being an old lead mine it will be heavily contaminate with heavy metals and poses a health risk if foolishly entered.
The same caution applies to the ground around the chimney itself

Looks like old fortifications repurposed for mining etc. Really really old, perhaps ancient forts

Lead smelting? The tunnels draw highly toxic fumes to the chimney for dispersal. Basing this on similarity to the Carrickgollogan leadmines in Dublin.

It is a smelting furnace, but I didn't really remember what the tunnels was for. Some other comment mentioned that it was for lead fumes precipitation and that doesn't seem to make sense. I don't think they would go through the tunnels and scrape lead from the stones.. 🙄

The shorts are cool. But I like your long form videos. I know they’re probably harder to do though.

The tower looks like a lime kiln. No idea what the tunnels are for
