I bet your Mum must of loved your fabulous gift! Does she like that you are growing in your own space? Is she into gardening?
Only remove suckers on indeterminate varieties though. Determinate tomato plants, just need the lower leaves removing, 6 inch / 15 cm clearance to prevent disease splash back. They only get about 3 ft high, produce all of their fruits at once and then you want to get in with something else. They are earlier than indeterminate too. I would probably get two rounds of determinates but i have indeterminate and just keep it going until autumn rain gives it blight. I really want to test over wintering again. I missed out last time as we were away and it rained so hard in October and just destroyed everything. I love experimenting and i might just root a sucker in July and replant in an area to test how it deals with the Sept/ Oct rain. They are predicting an "Indian Summer" here as El Nino season. Will see. It just means a longer wet summer here in the UK.
I also just learned after a football game in the garden that you can propagate marigolds in water! I also put a small pint plastic bottle dome over the original knocked off plant. It did start producing leaves but then died as soon as i lifted it off so, again putting the dome back on. Now i know this i think i will propagate the good ones in the garden as it was hard to germinate some varieties this year.
We just over wintered our hot peppers indoors. We have a bit a spider mite damage but so far, so good. I knock off a lot of early flowers so they focus more on growing than producing. Same with cucumbers and courgettes/zucchini's.
Loving the updates on the channel! "Keep on Keeping on"!

Here's some tried & true advice for you and your subs. Leaving 1 or 2 suckers along with the main stem of an heirloom will give you a strong plant, less susceptible to disease and a good amount of tomatoes. Indeterminate tomatoes (grows all season) remove all suckers.
Don't forget to Stop Off tomatoes. In around August / September, (depending on where you garden in the country and the growing season,) it is necessary to "stop off" the tomato plants. This means pinching out the growing tips at the top of the plant and stop the plant growing up any further.
I've been a gardner since 5 years old. I run my father's road side vegetable stand during my teen years. I'm just a back yard gardner today but I teach my neighbors how to grow and I find I love that interaction. A tip for planting tomatoes. Plant 3/4 of the plant under ground. Leaves and all. Put egg shells and/or Epsom Salt under the plant as well. Tomatoes and peppers love heat and full sun. Plant on south side of your house or building. Cover tomatoes with landscape cloth if there isn't enough foliage to protect the fruit from Sun scald.
