Another possibility to build a witch could be to swap Warlock with Sorcerer and choose something like Shadow Magic or Lunar Magic subclasses for thematic reasons XD you could hypothetically reflavor Hound of Ill Omen as a big black cat or a Swarm of bat's or crows etc

I run The Heroes Compendium's Witch class, which puts a focus on rituals, familiars, making magical crafts, and hexing. I like it a lot, but this is a good by-the-books, non-homebrew build

Artificer Initiate isn’t bad for the bonus spell, but you can also just modify your background proficiencies. The hermit gets herbalism kit and a language, so drop the language for alchemist supplies!

I dont recommend Devil Sight unless you dont mind having to 1v1 something away from the party. Its a very "selfish" but effective way to fight.
